The air becomes cooler, leaves rustle underfoot, and evenings have their own rules... quietly calling for something warm and fragrant. Something sweet, a bite of happiness.
And here, the best answer will be homemade cinnamon rolls. Soft, fluffy, with the aroma of spices that immediately wrap you like a blanket.
Ingredients (for approx. 10 buns):
- 500 g wheat flour
- 250 ml warm milk
- 60 g butter
- 50 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 25 g fresh yeast (or 7 g dry yeast)
- a pinch of salt
Filling:
- 60 g butter
- 3 tablespoons cane sugar
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
Preparation:
- Dissolve the yeast in warm milk with a spoonful of sugar, set aside for a few minutes.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and the starter to the flour, knead the dough and set aside to rise for about an hour.
- Roll out, spread with butter, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll into a log, cut into pieces.
- Place on a baking sheet, cover and leave for another 20 minutes.
- Bake at 180°C for 20–25 minutes.
Cream cheese icing
Ingredients:
- 150 g cream cheese (e.g., Philadelphia, President, natural cream cheese)
- 60 g soft butter
- 80–100 g powdered sugar
- a few drops of vanilla extract
Preparation:
- Beat butter with cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until creamy.
- Finally, add vanilla.
Spread over still warm cinnamon rolls – the icing will gently melt and soak into the buns, while the rest will remain creamy on top. :))
Autumn evenings have their own magic. And when they smell like cinnamon, they become even more beautiful.
