Let's be honest: midsummer in the mountains can be tough. Scorching heat, crowded shelters and packed trails can ruin your trip.
Ask anyone on our team when to go hiking—whether trekking or strolling with a child in a stroller—and the answer is clear: September in the Beskids.
As the holiday crowds fade, the best time of year begins in Wisła Czarne. The air turns crisp, the sun pleasantly warm, and the slopes glow gold and russet. Best of all, from Vislow Resort you can walk straight onto the finest trails without starting the car.
Why does September beat midsummer?
- Perfect temperatures: 17–20°C by day are ideal. Hike uphill without heat exhaustion or constantly checking the storm radar.
- Hiking trails in Wisła without queues: Enjoy coffee in a quiet shelter terrace, empty lookout benches and space all to yourself.
- Crystal-clear visibility: Dry autumn air makes a huge difference. From peaks and lookout towers, you can easily spot the distant Tatras, Little Fatra and Czech Beskids.
- Premium woodland vibes: The scent of damp forest floor, ripe blueberries and blackberries, morning mist and the first mushrooms beside the trail.
Best trails and viewpoints: from easy walks to mountain classics
In Wisła, everyone finds their pace. We selected the best trails and viewpoints, grouped to match your fitness and group:
1. Barania Góra – our local queen (from Vislow’s doorstep)
Barania Góra (1,220 m) is practically on Vislow’s doorstep. It’s ideal for a full-day hike without driving.
Recommended loop: Start at the resort towards Biała Wisełka Valley, pass the rushing Rodło Cascades, climb to the lookout tower (the 360° panorama in September sunshine is stunning!), then return via Przysłop Shelter and the gentle Czarna Wisełka Valley
2. Easy trails in Wisła for children and strollers
Mountain views without barriers or carrying gear? In Wisła, no problem:
Czarna and Biała Wisełka Valleys: Wide, smooth, car-free asphalt routes along streams. Ideal for all strollers, including bassinets, and toddlers’ first steps.
Promenade and Czerniańskie Lake Dam: A flat, step-free walk across the dam with views of turquoise water and the Polish President’s Residence, Wisła Castle.
3. Easy ridges & panoramas for all
Cieńków Loop: Ride the modern Cieńków cable car (staff can easily help load a stroller), then walk along the paved ridge road with superb views of Malinka Valley and the Adam Małysz ski jump.
Soszów Wielki lookout terrace: Take the chairlift from Wisła Jawornik to 792 m. The upper station and sunny terrace of Wisła’s oldest shelter are accessible and offer great views of the Polish-Czech borderland.
