The task of the Environmental Education Center is to enrich the natural knowledge of residents and visitors, build awareness of human impact on the environment, and shape a sustainable way of using natural resources. The Center offers a wide range of activities for schools and organized groups such as: workshops, trainings, meetings, special events, and ecological-themed occasions.

The building is surrounded by educational gardens. With the idea of exhibiting examples of biodiversity of the Vistula and the Silesian Beskids, the gardens have been divided into sectors. The multitude of species, varieties, and colors of plants attract pollinators – honeybees, bumblebees, and mason bees. In the central part of the garden, space has been allocated for shrubs. Many of them, e.g., coral viburnum, quince, or hawthorn, bear fruit intensively, making an excellent base for bird feeding. Birds gladly build their nests in the dense crowns.

Under the crowns of young trees, a number of deck chairs and benches have been placed, creating a Relaxation Zone. Among others, varieties of cherry plum with burgundy leaves and coniferous trees – Scots pine, larch, and balsam fir – have been planted along the avenue. Along the grassy corridor, we can get to know varieties of commonly cultivated cereals: millet, rye, oats, wheat, barley, and triticale. The climbers' labyrinth evokes strong emotions. Walls covered with clematis, honeysuckles, ivy, or climbing roses exude greenery. A series of colorful trampolines will ensure children’s activity and great fun.

The sensory garden will stimulate our smell, hearing, sight, and touch. It adjoins a bed of fragrant herbs, where oregano, catnip, thyme, lavender, and many others can be found. A little further, there is a geo-garden with an exhibition of rocks characteristic of the region. Information and species descriptions as well as curiosities about the flora and fauna of the Silesian Beskids in the gardens of the Environmental Education Center are displayed on illuminated totems and information panels. They are also described in Braille.
