Reservoir on Lake Czerniańskie
Czerniańskie Lake, also known as the Czerniańskie Reservoir, is an artificial dam reservoir built in Wisła Czarna between 1968 and 1973 for retention purposes and as a drinking water reservoir. It connects the waters of the Biała and Czarna Wisełka streams, which give rise to the queen of Polish rivers – the Vistula.
Besides its utility functions, the reservoir's dam also serves as a tourist attraction as a promenade walkway. The lake is surrounded by picturesque peaks of the Silesian Beskids, among which is Barania Góra. Near the Czerniańskie Reservoir, you can also find: the President of the Republic of Poland's Little Castle, the Biała Wisełka Valley with the famous Rodło Cascades, and a waterfall on the Wisełka stream.
